Om...Today I bow my head with gratitude as I announce the name of my Etsy Shop.
Thank you! I am not certain these words are spoken enough in today's world. So I will say thank you again! I hope throughout my life, I will remember time and time again to express my gratitude. I appreciate all of the kind words people have passed along. It means so much to me that people have taken time out of their day to pass along words of encouragement or to share some kindness.
Yes, my kids did laugh at me when I proposed the idea of a blog. I can understand why. I mean, really what do I have to blog about? My four kids, pets, and life experiences. Everyone has things in their lives that are important and meaningful. My life is NOT more important or more meaningful than anyone else's. There is so much in the world right now that is extremely important and substantially meaningful. Not to mention, terrifying at times. It is hard to sit in front of my computer and not say at least something about what the world is facing. In one of my group chats, we were discussing ways to talk about racism and the horrific events surrounding us, with our kids. My dear friend Katy, suggested the book Ghost Boys, written by Jewell Parker Rhodes. I had purchased the book to encourage more conversations and discuss the history of racism, as well as discuss ways things may change. Things we can do to help make that change happen. When I opened the book yesterday morning, I found the perfect thing to share with all of you. Rhodes' dedication was profound and sent tingles up and down my spine.
"Dedicated to the belief that we can all do better,
be better, live better. We owe our best to
each and every child."
We do, we owe our best to each and every child. I can't help but want to make this one of my many mantras. "We owe our best to each and every child." This is the heart and soul of my blog. Providing the chance for people of all ages to manifest their dreams, by doing better, living better. When we, as adults, do this, each and every child is given the chance to believe in their dreams. They are allowed to be their own billionaires. Whatever that looks like to them. Remember the days when kids dreamt of being the President? I would be curious how many children would put that on the tops of their dream list today. To be ridiculed, no matter what side they chose, presidents live the life of disdain. Unfortunately, even in a world with great wealth, knowledge, and love. We still have an abundance of poverty, violence, and hate. My hope is that we can teach our children kindness, gratitude, and the ability to see the true beauty, that DOES exist in our world. And when I say our children, I mean all children, regardless if they are your,s or the man on the moon's children. I am grateful for those who have helped teach my children goodness, grace, and appreciation. Todd and I could not have done it alone. Thank you!
Oh shoot, I digress. You were probably all reading this because you wanted to see what my Etsy Store name is going to be. I hope I won't disappoint you, I am official with an EIN. I am the proud owner of.... kb FAWN!!
Assuming you may want to know the meaning behind the name? What we will be selling? Those things are simple and really not super exciting. However, they are meaningful to me and most likely many people close to me. I hope they will become meaningful for you also. I still have some work to do. But hope you will continue to walk along with me, as I continue to make my way down this path.
Many of my close friends know I can drone on and on. So I will leave you today, with a grateful heart and hope for the children of tomorrow We CAN give them our best.
Om....
P.S. Penny our delightful orange, tiger print kitty, has gone back to her murderous ways. Thankfully she has brought her killing spree outdoors. Let all of the mice in Palos Heights be warned.
